I work for Texas State Technical College. I am currently a Specialist (read: photographer and videographer) in the Communication and Creative Services department at the Harlingen campus. The C&CS annual statewide get-together at the home office in Waco happened this week. Monday was our drive up day while Friday — today — is our drive down day. The Harlingen campus is 422 miles south of the Waco campus which is easily a six-hour drive for us. Texas is a big place. Yesterday was our last day in Waco so the co-workers and I decided to take in some local color.

The Wagon. We saw this well-loved vehicle parked outside one of the support services offices and facetiously dubbed it "the wagon." Everything about it screamed 1991, but there it was: faithfully serving the good people at TSTC in Waco for a many number of years. When you see a vehicle with as much character as the wagon you can't not take its picture.

That little white speck is a jet.

Melissa, a former elementary grade teacher with two children of her own, was helpful in pointing out the local dinner hotspots.

The Silos. Magnolia Market is still trying to figure out what to do with them.

Jan visited us for a bit before we went about our merry.

We had dinner at Buzzard Billy's, a local cajun eatery right on the Brazos River and only about two minutes from Magnolia Market.

My iPhone 6 died whilst waiting for sunset so I could not shoot photos of our awesome creolé dinner, but Joseph Abrego was kind enough to share the following photos he took from Buzzard Billy's patio with his Android of the Brazos River at dusk.

Good day.
